WordPress & Headless CMS Services

WordPress built to load fast and last, not to stack plugins

Senior engineers own the architecture, the code, and every deploy — Gutenberg-native blocks and purpose-built plugins instead of page-builder bloat. AI accelerates the audits, migrations, and monitoring, but nothing ships without a human who understands the tradeoffs.

Our approach

Most WordPress sites are slow because someone solved every problem with another plugin

The typical build is a page builder plus thirty plugins, each injecting its own scripts, queries, and security holes — then a speed plugin bolted on top to fix what the others broke. We do the opposite: a senior engineer decides the architecture, caching, and block system up front, then hand-codes what needs to be custom and refuses the bloat.

What our senior experts own

Every decision. No exceptions.

  • Architecture, hosting, and caching strategy decided before a line of code is written
  • Hand-coded Gutenberg blocks and purpose-built plugins instead of off-the-shelf stacking
  • The honest headless-vs-traditional call — including talking you out of headless when it is web-only
  • Every deploy, Git-flow branch, and production release owned by a senior engineer

What AI accelerates

Grunt work only. Never ships alone.

  • Full site and plugin audits that surface bloat, conflicts, and Core Web Vitals drags
  • Content migrations and database sync with serialized search-replace
  • Schema and redirect scaffolding across RankMath before a human reviews it
  • Uptime, security, and performance monitoring that flags regressions live
What's included

Everything your wordpress & headless cms needs — in one team.

Architecture-first discovery

A senior engineer maps your content model, block system, hosting, and caching strategy before any code is written — because those choices decide your performance, not a plugin bought later.

Gutenberg-native block library

Reusable, hand-coded blocks built on a lightweight theme so editors compose pages without a bloated page builder locking you in.

Purpose-built plugins, not plugin stacks

Custom plugins for the bespoke logic your site actually needs — integrations, commerce rules, workflows — instead of a dozen all-in-ones fighting each other.

SEO layer wired in from day one

RankMath configured for sitemaps, redirects, 404 monitoring, and schema (Article, FAQ, Product, and more) so the site ships search-ready, not retrofitted.

Real DevOps and staging

Git-flow branches, a staging environment, tested backups, and secrets kept out of the repo — so nothing is ever edited or debugged on your live site.

Layered security hardening

Focused firewall, malware scanning, and login protection layered deliberately, instead of one heavy all-in-one plugin that slows the site it claims to protect.

How we work

Expert-led. AI-accelerated.

SEO is a craft — and it's ours. AI just lets our strategists do more of it, faster.

STEP 01

Experts set the strategy

A senior strategist digs into your site, market, and competitors and builds the plan — the judgment AI can't replace.

STEP 02

AI accelerates execution

Audits, research, clustering, first drafts — AI handles the heavy, repetitive work in a fraction of the time, directed by our team.

STEP 03

Experts refine & ship

Every deliverable is reviewed, sharpened, and signed off by a human before it touches your site. Nothing auto-publishes.

What you get

Every month — in your inbox and in Aphra.

No black boxes. Concrete deliverables you can point to, plus the reporting to prove it worked.

  • Content model, sitemap, and architecture plan
  • Custom theme on a performance-tuned lightweight base
  • Reusable Gutenberg block library
  • Custom post types, taxonomies, and ACF fields
  • Purpose-built plugin(s) for bespoke logic
  • RankMath SEO config: sitemaps, redirects, schema, 404s
  • Staging environment with Git-flow deploys
  • Tested backups, restores, and security hardening
  • Launch QA, content entry, and monitoring in Aphra
What good looks like

Outcomes, not just activity.

A site that stays fast under real conditions

Because performance is designed into the architecture and caching up front, not patched with a speed plugin after the bloat is already baked in.

Editors who can actually publish

Native blocks and a clean content model mean your team lays out and ships pages without a developer ticket for every change.

Lower long-term maintenance tax

Fewer plugins means fewer conflicts, fewer security holes, and fewer emergency fixes — a codebase your team or ours can maintain without dread.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Do you use page builders like Elementor or Divi, or custom blocks?
Custom blocks by default. Page builders are the single biggest Core Web Vitals killer we see — Elementor alone can add megabytes of markup and lock you into its ecosystem. We build native Gutenberg blocks on a lightweight theme so editors still compose pages freely, without the bloat or the lock-in.
Who owns the code, hosting, domain, and admin credentials?
You do. All custom code, themes, plugins, and design transfer to you on final payment, and you hold your own independent admin, hosting, and domain access — not access-through-us. If you ever leave, the site keeps working and nothing is held hostage.
How long does a build actually take?
A defined build is typically 6 to 16 weeks: roughly 1-2 weeks discovery, 1-3 weeks design, 2-5 weeks development, and 1-2 weeks QA. The honest truth is that timelines slip when content isn't written or decision-makers are unavailable — almost never because of dev speed. We'll flag those dependencies early so the schedule holds.
How do you handle page speed and Core Web Vitals?
As a build target, not an afterthought. The decisions that determine your vitals — theme weight, block system, caching, hosting — are made in discovery before code exists. Gutenberg on a lightweight theme with proper caching reliably lands strong LCP; we treat it as a spec to hit, not a marketing line.
Should I go headless?
Usually not, and we'll tell you straight. Even Automattic and WordPress VIP say headless is the wrong call most of the time — it breaks editor preview, doesn't automatically make sites faster, and kills your plugin and marketing-tag ecosystem. Headless fits multi-channel delivery, custom rendering, or mature-DevOps orgs. When it genuinely fits, a hybrid approach usually beats going fully decoupled.
If we go headless, can my editors still preview and lay out pages?
Only if it's built for. Preview is the single biggest thing headless breaks out of the box — editors lose the click-Preview workflow. We rebuild it with Faust.js and preview mode when a project warrants headless, so content editing doesn't turn into a developer ticket for every change. If preview matters more than headless does, that's a strong signal to stay traditional or hybrid.
What exactly is done by humans versus AI?
Senior engineers make every architecture, security, and deploy decision, hand-code the custom work, and own each production release. AI accelerates the grunt work — full-site bloat audits, content migrations, schema and redirect scaffolding, and live monitoring. AI drafts and flags; a human reviews and ships. Nothing goes live unsupervised.
Is post-launch support in scope, or billed separately?
Separate, and by design. The build is a fixed-scope project; ongoing care — security scans, backups, core and plugin updates, monitoring, and support — is a retainer you can opt into. We'll define response times in writing, and the retainer is structured so you can leave without breaking the site.
How is a WordPress project priced?
Most builds are a fixed-scope project fee, often billed in milestones (discovery, design, build, launch). Small-business builds and complex custom or WooCommerce work sit in very different bands, so we scope from your actual requirements rather than quoting blind. Headless carries a real structural premium — dual hosting, dual skill sets, higher maintenance — which we'll name honestly before you commit.
How do I see progress, and how is the work measured?
Everything runs through Aphra. You watch the build progress, deploys, uptime, security checks, and Core Web Vitals live, with monitoring flagging any regression as it happens. You're never guessing what state the site is in or waiting on a monthly PDF to find out.
